SC rejects plea to lift SQA vs RH Law
MANILA – The Supreme Court has rejected the motion for reconsideration of Team PNoy candidate Risa Hontiveros to lift the status quo ante order against the implementation of the Reproductive Health Law.
Voting 10-4, the Supreme Court, in its first summer session this year, denied the MR of Hontiveros to lift the SQA order on the implementation of the RH Law.
The High Court earlier voted 10-5 to issue a 120-day SQA against the implementation of the controversial measure. Those who dissented were Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, and Associate Justices Antonio Carpio, Mariano del Castillo, Estela Perlas-Bernabe and Marvic Leonen.
Oral arguments on the consolidated cases against the law have been set on June 18.
